The first line-up of dolls released included Sharpay Evans from the High School Musical franchise (but more specifically the 2011 Disney Channel Original Movie Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure), Hannah Montana from her eponymous series (more specifically its final season Hannah Montana Forever), Alex Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place, and both CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue from the then-new Shake It Up. The second line-up of dolls would feature new versions of Alex, CeCe and Rocky, but replace Sharpay and Hannah with two new characters: Chyna Parks from A.N.T. Farm and Teddy Duncan from Good Luck Charlie.
The Chyna and Teddy dolls would be the final releases for Disney V.I.P. and the line would be discontinued shortly afterwards.
Wave 1:
NOTE: The CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue dolls were released at a later date to the other Wave 1 dolls, possibly to better tie in with the release of Shake It Up, though they would both still feature on the packaging of the rest of the Wave 1 products.
Wave 2:
NOTE: Similarly to the Wave 1 CeCe and Rocky dolls, the Chyna Parks and Teddy Duncan dolls were released at a later date than the rest of their wave. However, they would not be featured on the packaging of the earlier Wave 2 dolls, making their releases more of a surprise compared to the wait for Wave 1 CeCe and Rocky.
Unreleased products
A fashion pack for Sharpay Evans was also produced alongside the Alex Russo and Hannah Montana fashion packs, but went unreleased. A second Sharpay Evans doll also went unreleased despite multiple stock images being found – including one alongside the Wave 2 Alex Russo, CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue dolls. It is unknown why both of these Sharpay-related products went unreleased.
A doll based on Sonny Munroe from Sonny with a Chance was initially part of the first wave. The Sonny doll only appears on an initial teaser leaflet for the line, and was pulled from the lineup prior to release, presumably due to Demi Lovato’s exit from Sonny with a Chance in early 2011. (The Sonny doll was likely pulled from production early enough to not feature on the final packaging for Wave 1, but presumably after stock photos had been taken alongside the rest of the wave.)
Finally, stock images of an additional wave of dolls under the theme Get Glam were found online. This wave would have included new dolls of Alex Russo, Rocky Blue and CeCe Jones in party-themed outfits with a keychain accessory and style guide.
