How do I use the Dollect categories/lists feature?
Everyone with a Dollect account starts off with two category lists, My Collection and Wishlist. You can make as many lists as you want! Lists can be renamed and switched between public or private easily.
To add a doll to a list find the ❤ Collect Item button and click it to add or remove the doll from your existing category lists. There will be a checkmark for the lists the doll is added to.

There is also two shortcut buttons on a ❤ Collect Item button drop down, New Category and Manage Category.
New Category lets you create a new list. You can name it whatever you want and choose if you want it to be public or private.
Manage Category lets you edit existing lists. You can rename them and change whether it is public or private.

Clicking My Collection at the top of any page will show your lists. The lists are sorted alphabetically, you can switch between your lists by clicking the drop down menu. You can open them in multiple browser tabs if you want to see multiple at the same time. When looking at category/list click on a dolls image to go straight to that dolls page.

Only you can see your lists under the main My Collection page, if you want to share your public lists with other people go to your profile page and click the smaller My Collection option under your profile image. Copy the URL ( https://dollect.net/social/members/YOURUSERNAME/bookmarks/ ) other users or anyone not logged in can go to this URL to see your public lists.

On that page when logged in there is a Manage Bookmark Category button which also lets you rename your existing lists, switch them from public to private and create new ones.
This page also gives you the ability to delete lists.

Will ____ be added to the database?
YES. With very few exceptions our goal is to add every single doll to ever exist to this repository. As you may expect this will take a lot of time and people to accomplish! IF you’d like to help or learn how to get involved click here.
Who made this website?
This project is community-run and there is no specific person who created it. Many pages may have notes that explain who worked on a section and you can click here to read about our founders and those with formal “responsibilities” on the site. This project was started in 2023 and initially funded by xCanadensis.
How can I help?
If you’d like to get involved in the database section of this website click here. Otherwise there are plenty of other ways you can help! A big part of making our site successful and useful isn’t just the archival of “official” imagery and information about toys- we also want to include aspects of the community! Participating in forum discussions, posting images of your collections and dolls are great ways to help contribute. You can also post reviews of your dolls which can help other community members- we have a fully functional system to allow you to host your own blog and custom profile on site if you’d like to.
Some pages can’t be made yet because Dollect volunteers don’t have permission to use pictures of the doll. While pictures provided by the company such as stock photos are available for anyone to use, pictures taken by anyone who owns the doll can’t be used unless the person who took the picture gives permission. Using someone’s picture without their permission could cause legal trouble.
If you would like to give Dollect volunteers permission to use pictures you have taken, you can use the Dollect Doll Images Submission Form. Upload as many of your pictures as you want, whenever you want. If Dollect volunteers use your picture you will be credited for it.
If you’d like to financially contribute to hosting costs or costs of adding new features to the site there will be an option to do so in the future.
