Taylor Swift started her career in 2006 with her debut album “Taylor Swift.” She was an instant country music sensation, with 5 songs becoming singles from the album. “Teardrops on my Guitar” was her first song to hit the Top 100, coming in at #15. Taylor Swift has produced 11 studio albums, 4 re-recorded albums (so far), 5 EPs, and 4 live albums.
In 2009, the toy brand Jakks Pacific partnered with Taylor to create a doll line based on her music videos and fashions. The line had a total of 16 dolls, 2 fashion packs, and 5 playsets/mini playsets. Music videos referenced include “Our Song,” “Teardrops on my Guitar,” “Picture to Burn,” “Love Story,” and “You Belong With Me.”
Many Taylor Swift dolls have packaging marked “Play Along Toys” – a company that was owned by Jakks Pacific before later being shut down. Strangely this is not reflected in press releases about the release of the dolls. There are two distinct packaging styles for many of the dolls due to this.
