On August 11, 1991, Nickelodeon aired a brand new children’s show, Rugrats. Despite having a three year hiatus, the show is considered a massive success.
Rugrats was written and produced at Klasky Csupo in Los Angeles, California. The show follows the adventures of Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Angelica, Susie, and, eventually, Dil and Kimi. The series is loved for its inclusivity, progression, and writing.
Rugrats deals mostly with the babies and toddlers, but also focuses on the adults of the world as well. Stu, Didi, and Grandpa Lou are most often shown on screen, as the adventures often take place at the Pickles residence.
The series ran until August 1st, 2004, ending with a whopping nine seasons, three theatrical releases, and multiple book series. The show was recently revived in 2021.
