A Girl For All Time
A Girl for All Time is a 2011 introduced doll line from the United Kingdom by Daughters of History. They make 16″ fashion dolls inspired by British history. Their dolls feature vinyl bodies with articulated elbows and knees.
The historical line follows the story of the girls from the fictional Marchmont family through 500 years of English History, from Tudor England to the present day.
Matilda, Your Tudor Girl
Matilda was introduced in 2011 and was the first A Girl for All Time doll. She is from Tudor England and her story takes her to the court of Henry VIII. She has a story, three additional outfits and a pet dog named Hunter, all bought separately.
Elinor, Your Elizabethan Girl
Elinor was introduced in 2018 alongside Bex. She is from London in Elizabethan England. Unlike Matilda, she doesn’t have a story to accompany her doll and only has one outfit. Elinor has a cat named Shakes.
Lydia, Your Georgian Girl
Lydia was introduced in 2014 and was the fourth doll released. Her story takes her from Bristol, England to Colonial Massachusetts before the Revolutionary War. She has two additional outfits, a cat named Mirlo, and an unnamed horse, all bought separately.
Helena, Your Regency Girl
Helena is the newest doll from A Girl for All Time, she was introduced in 2021. She was designed in collaboration with Pemberlythreadsgirl on Instagram. Helena is a member of the upper-class in Regency England. Unlike the other historical dolls, Helena has no additional accessories or pets.
Amelia, Your Victorian Girl
Amelia was the second A Girl for All Time doll, she was introduced in 2012. She is a Victorian schoolgirl from 1880s London. She has three additional outfits, a pet cat named Ophelia and a book, all bought separately. She is a direct descendant of Matilda, the Tudor character.
Clementine, Your 1940s Girl
Clementine was the third A Girl for All Time doll, she was introduced in 2013. Her story follows her evacuation during the Blitz and her subsequent adventures in a sleepy Devonshire village. Her doll has the most pieces out of all of the dolls. She has three outfits, two pets, a dog named Oreo and a Owl named Mr. Winston, and a book.
Sam, Your 1960s Girl
Sam was introduced in 2015, she was the fifth doll released. She is Clementine’s daughter and she lives in Paris, France in the 1960s. She has two additional outfits and a cat named Ginsberg.
Modern Characters
A Girl for All Time began releasing the modern characters in 2016 with Maya and Nisha. Maya is a descendant of Matilda but other than that, the modern dolls are largely unrelated to the overarching story of the historical dolls. However, all the modern characters are friends. Bex was released in 2018 alongside Elinor, and Max was released in 2019.
