Monster High Generation 2 was introduced by Mattel in 2016. The characters stayed the same, but their designs were altered, with Mattel going for a more “cutesy” look to appeal to younger children. Along with the new Generation 2 core dolls, a new webseries titled “Adventures of the Ghoul Squad” released, along with 2 new movies, “Welcome to Monster High” and “Electrified.”

Monster High is a franchise all about the children of famous monsters, such as Dracula and Medusa. While Generation 1 focused on Frankie Stein as a main character, Generation 2 focuses more on Draculaura. In the first movie of Generation 2, “Welcome to Monster High,” Draculaura helps her father, Dracula, make a new school for Monsters. It is up to her and the friends she makes along the way to get everyone together for a brand boo semester. The franchise is often praised for urging everyone to express themselves, “freaky flaws and all,” although this was changed to “Monster Quirks” in Generation 2.
