cup o style dolls + codes! whitney wasabi, rory rainbow, and suki sakura!

These came completely out of the blue for me and stan twitter when random promotional pictures of the girlz were released. I wasn’t too impressed with them until I saw Miss Whitney Wasabi. Woah…

Whitney is one of those dolls I just have no complaints with design-wise. She’s just simply gorgeous and she’s a rare full-on green doll! I guess young girls don’t love green very much and they’re not good in sales. But oh my god,, I wasn’t the only one to feel this way either, I feel like all of dolltwt loves her (well those who know of her).

 

I had obsessively checked Walmart for any sign of them, to no avail. But, when I came home from college this week, I happened to finally, FINALLY stumble on them. They weren’t actually in my doll aisle but in the mystery box (???) aisle with legos and stuff.

Here’s the placement of the dolls I bought. As I later found out, you can distinguish them by two factors: the long code to the bottom of the box and their placement in the promotional box.

I actually bought Rory Rainbow and Suki Sakura before realizing there was a code system (I only wanted Whitney Wasabi LOL), so I ran back into Walmart to get the right one. That’s how I confirmed there were codes, I suppose. I also bought the Unia Pegacorn and Cat girl pixlings today so my wallet is crying.

Review:

So there’s actually a special way to unbox them involving water and pouring stuff in (a lot like the Magic Mixies pixlings dolls). However, I didn’t have the time, nor felt like it, so I just skipped the whole process. Also, when you use water, it gets onto the clothing as well.

goes into the whole process. You can see that the clothing and the phones are actually inside these little papery packets. I didn’t even bother opening the metallic packets because it makes the water foam and stuff.

The dolls all come with little chopsticks, a gripper for said chopsticks, a mini cellphone, the doll, shoes, a small cloth outfit, sunglasses, a bag, a stand, a little chair-like accessory, and a random other accessory (you can see on the stock image). The chopsticks are kind of folded in on its self, so you have to pull out one part to see the full chopstick. Also, they’re hard to use unless you put the gripper on the very end and not the middle. You can reuse the chopsticks and lid of the ramen bowl to be a little parasol for the doll. Very cute.

The dolls are different but fairly cohesive between them. They all have different hair/accessories and top molds. I also think that some of the facemolds are different which is great because they definitely didn’t have to do that. You can see in the image below that Rory has a bit of a smirk and Wasabi has a polite smile. I think that Whitney and Suki have the same facemolds though.

You can also see in this image that, while Whitney most certainly has the best design, her skirt is a bit plain. There’s no hemming at the bottom and there’s just elastic at the top to assist getting her clothes on. Meanwhile, of the three I got, Rory has the best clothes because there’s multiple hemmings, velcro, and an actually pleaded skirt. She also comes with a little rainbow backpack which is simply to die for!

Suki has cute little sakura blossoms on her hair, and her shoes actually have working buckles! Her pants are a bit like lagoona’s g3 signature pants with the flares on the side. I don’t think it works quite as well on a tiny doll with this scale though. It looks kinda silly, especially because her pants hike up constantly.

The dolls also all have different noodle hair placement and curl types which are really innovative! Whitney and Rory have a Z-shape curl and Suki’s are more wavy. Oh yeah, the hair feels like silly bands from back in the day. I think Suki’s feels the worst though, simply because I’m having texture issues with her lol. It just feels more sticky? Not sure how to describe it.

Here are my girls together! I lowkey think these are the best of the series, so I think I got pretty lucky with my pulls! (Atp this feels like buying kpop albums with all the mystery dolls these days). I hope you all enjoyed my review and I hope yall can get the girls you want! I can’t wait to see what the rest of the girls look like (we’ve only seen six out of the twelve in stores).
