Kailey Hopkins, 2003

Kailey is a young girl from California. She was the second ever Girl of the Year, introduced by American Girl in 2003.

Kailey loves the ocean and body surfing. She loves to visit the tide pools and surf with her best friend, Tess. She and her father also like to visit the restaurant right off the beach. Her father paints pictures of seascapes for greeting cards and similar things, and her mother is a marine microbiologist. When she hears that a new development is trying to remove the local tide pools, she works to try and save them in her own way. Kailey is courageous, compassionate, and athletic.

Kailey was archived at the end of 2003. She was initially supposed to release in 2002, but the poor reception of Lindsey Bergman cause her release to be pushed back a year.
