Marisol Luna, 2005

Marisol Luna is a Latina girl who enjoys dance. She was the third Girl of the Year, introduced by American Girl in 2005.

At the start of her story, Marisol lives in the very Latino-influenced neighborhood of Pilsen in Chicago, and is upset when her parent decide to move to the suburbs. SHe is an aspiring dancer, who primarily dances in the Mexican tradition of ballet folklorico, but also does ballet and jazz. Marisol is lively and resourceful, but can also be very competitive, and enjoys competitive sports.
