Mia was the sixth Girl of the Year, introduced by American Girl in 2008.

Mia is the only daughter in a family of hockey players, but she wants to pursue figure skating instead. She struggles to adapt to the new style of skating at first, but is determined to master it. Mia is inspiring and goal driven, and never gives up.
