In the early 1990s, we were introduced to a whole new line of Barbie’s friends: the “Shani” line. In this lineup there was Shani, Asha, Jamal and Nichelle, and each were given their own brand new face sculpts! Nichelle appeared sparsely throughout the early 90s, and once the Shani line ended, the sculpt was used mainly for holiday edition dolls and some playline releases. Now, the Nichelle sculpt is mainly used for collector dolls.
