Long, long ago, there was a beautiful baby girl born to a very kind king and queen. The tiny princess had little lips as red as cherries, hair as black as coal and skin as white as snow. They named her Snow White.
One sad day, the queen died and the king chose for his second wife, a wicked woman who daily asked the magic mirror, ‘Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?’ Always, the mirror told the queen that she was the fairest, for indeed, it was true… until one day when the mirror said, ‘You, oh Queen are fair ’tis true, but Snow White now is fairer than you.’
The queen was furious and ordered a royal kinsman to take Snow White deep into the forest, never to return. Because she was beautiful and kind, he was sad, but he left her there all on her own. Soon Snow White came upon the tiny house of seven dwarfs, who welcomed her into their home and vowed to keep her safe from the evil queen.
The Queen, believing that Snow White was dead, flew into a royal rage when the mirror once again proclaimed there was another fairer than she. Disguised as a beautiful, young girl selling apples, the Queen tricked Snow White into taking a bite from a poisoned apple. Before Snow White could swallow the bite, she fell to the floor in a deep, deep sleep.
When the seven dwarfs discovered Snow White, they tearfully placed her where all the world could see her beauty. One day a prince came by and was so stunned by her beauty, he asked to take her with him. The dwarfs agreed, and as she was moved to the prince’s carriage, the poisoned bit of apple fell from Snow White’s mouth.
Suddenly Snow White opened her eyes, and in that moment, they fell in love! Soon the prince married Snow White and everyone in the kingdom celebrated the good news… everyone except the evil queen, who upon hearing the news, was overcome by rage and disappeared forever! And so, Snow White and her handsome prince lived together happily ever after.
