This face mold was created in 2003 as a new face mold for Summer, Barbie’s new friend who was introduced as part of the Cali Girl line. Her face mold has since been used for a variety of playline dolls of Summer, as well as frequently for Teresa, and occasionally other dolls.
In 2011, Summer got a new face mold as part of a redesign.
