Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus is a playline Barbie line from 2005, and is the sixth instalment in the Barbie animated film series. It is the second film in the series to feature an original story, and follows the story of Princess Annika as she meets the winged horse Brietta, in her quest to break the spell of the evil wizard Wenlock who has turned her family and kingdom to stone.
Various pieces of classical orchestral music were used for the film’s score, including Haydn’s Symphony no. 94, Surprise, Beethoven’s 6th Symphony Pastoral, and Grieg’s Symphony No 1. The original theme song for the film, Hope Has Wings, was performed by Brie Larson.
In addition to the initial run of dolls released for the movie tie-in, other dolls were later released of Annika in various princess lines. Smaller-scale dolls of Annika were also released under the Barbie Mini Kingdom line.
