Barbie Goddess Series
The Barbie Goddess Series was a Collector line that featured Barbie as goddesses and figures from ancient Greek Mythology; with brief synopses of their stories on the back of their boxes.
3 Limited Edition Gold Label Collector dolls were released in this series, from 2008 to 2010, with 1 special OOAK doll designed and made for the Italian Doll Convention considered to be the fourth doll in the series.
Special Auction OOAK
Barbie as Diana 2018
This doll was also designed by Linda Kyaw, and was made specially for the Italian Doll Convention 2018 as an auction contribution (3)(4). It is unknown how much she was ultimately bought for.
She has the ©2011 Mermaid face sculpt, and Model Muse body (1). She wears a silvery mesh top, and a golden metallic gladiator skirt, with a long white cape and train. Her blonde hair is styled in a long braid, with golden laurel wreaths on either side of her head. She wears knee-high gladiator heels, and has golden chain jewelry adorning her outfit.
She would also come with a fawn. Seeing as Diana (or the Greek counterpart: Artemis) is the Goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, childbirth, chastity, and the moon; with the deer being her most sacred animal (2).
