Carpatina Dolls was founded in 2002 by Mihaela Hinkle.

Hinkle had previously been the designer for the Just Pretend Stardust Classics dolls, and the Kid Galaxy Dolls Unlimited Little Sisters dolls. After those companies folded, Hinkle purchased the rights to her designs and sold them through Carpatina Dolls. Carpatina Dolls began with two slim bodied dolls in 2002, and has expanded to eleven dolls as of 2025. Carpatina Dolls also sells clothing designed for fit soft bodied 18″ dolls like American Girl which are modeled by the Little Sisters dolls.
