Cepia LLC
Cepia is an American company based in St Louis, Missouri, established in 2002.
Cepia’s origins begin with a company named Trendmasters, founded in 1989 by Russ Hornsby, who achieved success with the Starcastles line in addition to licensed products for Godzilla and Voltron. However, the economic impact of the September 11th attacks would see the company’s assets sold to Jakks Pacific in late 2002. That same year, Hornsby would found Cepia.
The company would achieve global success in 2009 with their Zhu Zhu Pets line, which would receive numerous spinoffs such as Zhu Zhu Babies and Kung Zhu. Their successful Cats Vs Pickles plush line from 2020 would also spawn numerous spinoffs using the “Versus” formula.
