DesignaFriend is a line of 18 inch dolls manufactured by Kid Kreations. The line is often associated with and marketed under the Chad Valley brand, and is sold exclusively at Argos stores in the UK. The first wave of dolls, fashions and accessories were released in 2011.
The DesignaFriend dolls mirror the style of other popular 18 inch dolls, with inset eyes, plastic limbs and a cloth body. The dolls are considered a more affordable option compared to higher end 18 inch dolls – the standard dolls are priced between £20 to £35, with higher priced dolls featuring multiple outfits and/or playset pieces. The line has also released yearly Christmas collections, a doll commemorating Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, and a special edition 10th Anniversary doll in 2021.
In 2023 a DesignaFriend doll named Connie – based on the previously sold Coco Fashion Designer doll – was selected as one of two new mascots for Argos stores in the UK, and would feature in advertising alongside a Chad Valley dinosaur named Trevor.
