Galoob

Lewis Galoob Toys (known mononymously as Galoob) was an American toy company based in San Francisco, California, and established in 1957. The company closed in 1998 after being purchased by Hasbro.

One of Galoob’s signature properties was Micro Machines, which debuted in 1986 to colossal sales success. They would also create the best-selling line of celebrity dolls in history with their Spice Girls dolls in 1997 selling over 11 million dolls, as well as the original incarnation of Sky Dancers. They would also produce numerous licensed toys for Ghostbusters, Anastasia, Biker Mice from Mars and various other properties from the late 80s and 90s.

After its closure, Galoob’s properties would be absorbed into Hasbro, and the Galoob name would continue to be used on select products.
