Lindsey Bergman, 2001

Lindsey was the first Girl of the Year, introduced by American Girl in June 2001, later retired in mid-2002.

Lindsey is a 10-year-old girl from Chicago in the year 2001. She is funny, good-hearted, and always wants to help out. She enjoys riding her scooter and playing the trumpet.

She was the first and only Jewish character released until Rebecca Rubin was introduced.

Due to poor sales, she is difficult to find secondhand. This also led to the second Girl of the Year, Kailey Hopkins, to be delayed a year.
