Introduction

Pocahontas came out in this year 1995

Pocahontas dolls were produced starting in 1995 to coincide with the release of the movie. they continued to be produced through the rest of the 90’s. For the entirety of the 2000’s and 2010’s no new Pocahontas dolls were produced. 2023 marked the first reappearance of Mattel dolls made of her since 1999. Most Pocahontas dolls made in the 90’s have Kanekelon hair, My First Pocahontas being the exception with Saran. Both Kocuom and Nakoma have Kanekelon, John Smith has Saran.

Prototypes/Concept Art

In the Prototype stage Pocahontas and Nakoma used a Jasmine headmold, Kocoum used a Jamel (Shani’s boyfriend) headmold, and John Smith used a Prince Adam (the Beast) headmold
