Make candy gummies:
What you’ll need for this experiment:
- Gummy Pen (with tip and plunger) and Gummy Tray from Adrienne’s Gummies set
- Water
- Unflavoured Gelatin
- Flavoured Gelatin
- Spoon
- Measuring Cup
- Glass Mixing Bowl
- Oven Mitts
- Sauce Pan
Let’s begin!
- Add 3 packets of unflavored gelatin into a ½ cup of cold water in a glass bowl. Pour the packets slowly as you stir.
- Add one 3 oz. (85 grams) packet of flavored gelatin and stir as you pour.
- Place a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water to create a double boiler.
- Stir until the mixture is completely dissolved. Then, remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.
- Place the gummy pen tip in the gelatin and pull the plunger upward to gather the mixture.
- Press down the plunger to squeeze gelatin into the gummy tray. Let the gummies solidify for 15 minutes before eating!
Cleaning information (both experiments)
- Soak and scrub the gummy tray thoroughly before switching between candy gummies and soap gummies.
- Wash the gummy pen, plunger, tip and gummy tray before the first use and after each additional use.
- NOTE: Remove the o-ring seal in the plunger tip and wash separately to avoid losing it. Replace the o-ring in the tip before using again.
- The gummy pen and gummy tray are dishwasher safe, but additional hand-washing may be required.
- Air dry only in a well ventilated area before storing.

What you’ll need for this experiment:
- Gummy Pen (with tip and plunger) and Gummy Tray from Adrienne’s Gummies set
- Water
- Unflavoured Gelatin
- Salt
- Spoon
- Measuring Cup
- Food Coloring
- Oven Mitts
- Sauce Pan
- Liquid Body Soap
Let’s begin!
- Add ¾ cup of water to a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Then, remove from heat.
- Add 1 packet of unflavored gelatin and 1 drop of food coloring. Stir until it is dissolved. NOTE: Mixture and pan will be HOT.
- Add one teaspoon of salt and a ½ cup of liquid body soap. Stir to combine.
- Place the gummy pen tip in the gelatin and pull the plunger upward to gather the mixture.
- Insert the plunger and press it down to squeeze gelatin into the gummy tray.
- Refrigerate the tray for 3 hours. Push the gummies out of the tray and use them on your body as shower gel!
Important information (both experiments)
- CAUTION: Contents are HOT! Always use protective mitts and do not touch until completely cooled.
- Wash hands before preparing and eating candy gummies.
- DO NOT eat soap gummies.
- If skin irritation occurs from the soap gummies, discontinue use.
- Store unused soap gummies in the refrigerator to prevent them from liquefying.
- There will be left over gummy mixture after the experiment. Dispose the remaining mixture or use your own clean containers to make additional gummies.
- Use different colored ingredients for easy identification of candy and soap gummies.
