Project Mc2 is a team of super-smart and seriously cool girls who use their love of science and their spy skills as they go on missions for the secret organization, NOV8 (that’s “innovate!”). They’re real girls with real skills ready to take on anything. Watch new episodes of the Project Mc2 original series, only on Netflix! Meet Bryden Bandweth, tech genius! She looooves tweeting and instagramming about rad tech stuff, music, and digital photography–if it’s cool, she’s on it. Chill with her, and you’ll believe she’s part computer. Now you can perform a cool S.T.E.A.M. experiment at home, just like Project Mc2 tech guru, Bryden Bandweth. Make your own nail powder experiment using household items again and again. A pigment is a material that changes the colour of light which is reflected off an object. Pigmentation is the reason nail polish has such bright colours! Create your own brightly coloured nails using a custom pigment by combining crushed eye shadow and clear nail polish! First, scrape the eye shadow into a container. Then, apply a base layer of nail polish and dip your freshly-painted nails into the eye shadow. Apply a second coat of nail polish over the eye shadow to seal it, and get ready to show off your #amazeblogs manicure! Experiment with assorted colours for endless combinations!

  • As seen in the Emmy-nominated Netflix original series — the girls are ready to rock out on their next secret spy mission. Going undercover never looked so rock and roll!
  • Fully articulated premium Bryden Bandweth wears a stylish hat, bold printed jacket, QR code graphic dress, and platform sneakers to transform her into a rock legend
  • Includes a fun science activity: make your own nail powder again and again with household items
  • Household items not included

Wanna learn how to do Bryden’s Nail Powder experiment? We’ve got all the details you need:

What you’ll need for this experiment:

  • Three jars and lids plus base from Bryden’s Nail Powder set
  • Three different colour eyeshadows
  • Clear nail polish
  • Spoon
  • Sandwich bags
  • Tissues

Let’s begin!

  1. Place one eye shadow in a bowl and crush it into fine powder using the back of the spoon. Repeat for the remaining two eye shadows cleaning out the bowl each time.
  2. Pour each eyeshadow powder into a different jar, or mix colours to create a new colour.
  3. Apply the clear nail polish onto your nail. Note: do one nail at a time.
  4. With the nail polish still wet, dip the tip of your nail into the powder.
  5. Wrap a tissue around your finger and gently blot the painted nail to flatten the powder. Do this after each time you dip your finger into the powder.
  6. Apply another coat of clear nail polish and dip a different part of the nail into the powder. Create different designs with all the different colours!

Important information:

  • Discontinue use if irritation or rash develops. Do not use on broken skin.
