Sakura Wars (2019), also known as Shin Sakura Wars and Shin Sakura Taisen, is the sixth mainline entry in the Sakura Wars franchise and the first to be released in 14 years. This game was treated as a franchise revival and soft reboot and featured a completely new cast of characters. The game takes place 10 years following the events of Sakura Wars 5. A massive demon war resulted in the disappearance of all three previous Combat Revue teams. New Combat Revues have been established all over the world as a result. In Tokyo, the New Imperial Combat Revue is struggling to live up to the name of its predecessor, both as a Combat Revue and as a theater troupe. Our new protagonist, Seijuro Kamiyama, is assigned to lead the crew as part of an attempt to revive the team.
