Snip-its is a chain of American hair salons catered specifically towards children. The stores are known for their colorful and cartoonish atmosphere as well as their prominent cast of mascot characters. They offer a number of different birthday party services, and from 2007 to early 2013, this included the “Style-a-Doll Parties” in which each child was given a free styling head doll based on one of the two Clip-ette sisters to play with and take home.

Each doll then gets personalized with a new name and profile on her very own certificate of Snip-ification. At the party’s end, the dolls go home with the girls and the future stylists can continue their careers in their home studios!”

The dolls were designed to be uniquely styled by each party goer, so stylings and hair clip accessories are not uniform and may heavily differ from photo-to-photo. While the dolls were known mainly as party favors, they could also be spotted in some shop photos displayed alongside other merchandise. It is unknown if they were available to be purchased separately at some point.
