The lineup of Teen Trends dolls was composed of Courtney, Deondra, Gabby and Kianna – all four of them would feature in both waves of releases. Each doll stood at 17 inches tall and featured nine points of articulation, each coming with their own hair styling accessories and lookbooks. The dolls were packaged in boutique-style fold-out boxes, each decorated to match the character’s individual style and personality. Accompanying products would flesh out the world of each character, including fashion packs, pets and Create-a-Closet sets featuring new pieces for the dolls.
The Kianna doll in particular received attention due to a conflict with rival company MGA Entertainment – Mattel claimed that the name of a character from MGA’s Bratz line (2005’s Wild Wild West Kiana) infringed on Mattel’s trademark.
The line was slated to have a third wave of releases, which would have introduced a fifth character named Rayna, but this third wave would not be released and the line was shortly discontinued thereafter.

The unreleased third wave of Teen Trends was displayed at the 2006 New York Toy Fair.
The centrepiece of this third wave would have been the new character added to the line – a Harajuku inspired doll named Rayna.
The doll would have featured colourful clip-in braids and extensions plus hair charms as her primary accessory, while her pet and two fashion packs would be sold separately.
Additionally, the third wave would have included new editions of Courtney, Deondra, Gabby and Kianna, as well as new releases of their pets, plus two more sets of fashion packs for each character to go alongside Rayna’s. A Create a Spa playset was also displayed at the event.
It is unknown exactly why this third wave wasn’t released, though poor sales have been speculated as the ultimate reason.
