Volks
Volks is a Japanese toy company established in 1972.
They are best known for their Dollfie brand, which has grown from its original release in 1997 to numerous spin-offs, including the larger Dollfie Dream and the ball-jointed Super Dollfie. They are also renowned for their garage kits or resin kits, many inspired by licensed anime characters such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and My-HiME.
Beginning its life as a small hobby shop in Kyoto, Volks would later open stores in other Japanese cities including Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, while Kyoto would be the home of the world’s only Super Dollfie Museum, Tenshi-no-Sato. Their doll-specific stores operate under the name Tenshi-no-Sumika, while their more general hobby-oriented stores operate as Volks Showrooms. In 2006 they would open their first US store, Tenshi-no-Sumika Los Angeles.
