Zeenie Dollz are a doll line independently produced by Hansini and Laxmi Wadhwani starting in 2013. some dolls were still available for purchase online until 2019. The Facebook page for the brand is still active as of January of 2023.
“The Zeenies are 6 fashionable Eco-Warriors on a mission to protect the environment and save the Earth. Zeenie Dollz are 12 inch dolls made from non-toxic recyclable materials (ABS and TPR) and feature 24 points of articulation for maximum pose-ability and play-ability. Each doll’s eco-fabulous fashion represents their own unique eco-power and environmental cause.
The concept and mission behind Zeenie Dollz started with a sketch by Hansini Wadhwani, the creator, designer and inventor of the series. Hansini showed her mother, Laxmi Wadhwani, the first sketch of a girl with flowing blue hair and explained that her persona was that of Mother Earth. With overwhelming support and belief in the concept, Laxmi leveraged her years of experience in the textile industry to bring Zennia, the first doll in the series, to life. Zeenie dolls were manufactured and released in 2013. The dolls remained available until at least 2019. Their original retail price was $39.99 but many sales and specials existed throughout their time being available. As of June 2023 their social media appears inactive and their official site and store are no longer available.
