Hi fellow collectors and welcome to my first Dollect post!
I’ve been using the site for a while, but never had the courage to publish a blog post. Today I’m feeling brave though and I want to tell you about my December doll finds. This month was very unusual for me because I couldn’t really go thrifting and ended up getting many new, unused dolls instead. My birthday is on the 18.12. and my family also celebrates Christmas (happy holidays btw). Most family members don’t give me dolls, but my mom does, and she was very generous this year. She picked out 4 surprise gifts. So, without further ado, let’s get into it:
First, here is a Jakks Pacific Tinkerbell that my mom bought me for St. Nikolas day (which is an Austrian holiday on the 6th of December). Traditionally, only kids get small presents for this holiday, while adults don’t exchange gifts. My mom thinks I’m still enough of a kid to get something despite being a sophomore in High School. I highly appreciate it and was super happy about my present this year. Whenever I go doll hunting with mom, she always points out this Tink. These Jakks dolls are super cute and nice quality for what they are, and I’m glad they are still produced in Europe. They were gone for many years but came back last year (this one is box-dated 2022). You can get them at Smyth toys for 7,99€ which is really solid. I can only recommend her.
Here we have a Cavetastic Sleepover Emberly. I got this doll in a very complicated series of events: basically, my class went on a school trip to Vienna on the 13th and 14th (idk why you’d put that during prime exam season, but sure) and I ended up messing up and having to navigate the city, which I had never been to, alone. I don’t think of myself as a very independent person, so this was super scary. Everything worked out fine in the end, and I even stumbled across a toy store that had this doll for 11,99€. I could have gotten her on Amazon for 9€, but I was too stressed to check if I got a good deal. I adore Cave Club dolls; they really remind me of MH G1 and I’m super sad they were not received well by the doll community at large. I have 2 for now but hope to find more.
Next, I’m going to talk about a doll I’ve actually had for a couple months. I got her on October 7th at a department store because she was on sale for 14€ and my mom had 6€ of store credit she gave me to use up before its expiration. I always wanted a Tweens doll because their designs are some of my favs, but I never found one on a good enough sale. Nia Regal is not one of my all-time favourites, but she is still SO cute. I love the unique take on a princess dress and all the BOWS! So pretty. L.O.L. designs are always next level. I never unboxed her for some reason, so I did it on my birthday and just treated her like another gift.
My actual doll-present from my mom was… LAVENDER LYNN! I’m super excited about her. I love RH/SH dolls, but I just don’t have good luck finding them at the flea market. They all have gorgeous faces, so the ones on top of my wish list are the ones with outfits I really like. Like this one! I love everything about it and the doll as a whole. Except for the hair gel, that’s why I washed and boiled her immediately. Then, in classic Éclair fashion, I looked on Reddit if this Nylon should even be boil washed. I say in classic Éclair fashion because I always seem to think of these things AFTER the fact. Why am I like this? I ended up becoming super worried about her hair and thinking I ruined it, but once it had fully dried there was nothing wrong with it. I like her even more with the super soft straight hair. Excuse her lack of glasses and some other accessories, I misplaced them for the time being.
Now let’s move on to a doll I purchased myself on 23.12.: BeKind Brianna, whose backdrop came in very handy as you could already see. Jada Toys only attempts at doll lines were Cutie Pops and BeKind, and considering how much I love Cutie Pops, I always wanted to have a BeKind doll. Like Cutie Pops, they weren’t available in my country, not even on Amazon. I thought I’d have to import them or just miss out but apparently not! I got this doll at a strange store called Pepco. I went there to hunt for MH G3 Monsteristas, who were on their website, but not available in stores. They only had one wonky BeKind doll left, but I still got her as you can see! They come with a bunch of cool stuff and a little craft project. Mine had 2 outfits and a pattern. Good deal for what I paid, 17€. Their faces are a bit strange but I still really like them. And their articulation is amazing and so is the hair quality. I’m always excited to add another unique doll to my collection. Cutie Pops Éclair is excited to have a new friend!
Bonus doll: I actually got this Giochi Preziosi Sailor Moon doll (Principessa Parlante) at a flea market in September but hadn’t done anything with her. I literally had nothing for her to wear that didn’t look super silly until NOW! I went to the blessed thrift store during my shopping spree on 23.12. and they had a loose Usagi dress in their doll bin. Yes, DOLL BIN. It’s called the blessed thrift store for a reason. This is not a Giochi Preziosi dress, but rather one by Igel, a company that produced Sailor Moon dolls for the German and Austrian market in 1999. Still looks great though, it’s very well made. Probably one of my best doll clothing finds of all time considering it was something I specifically needed. Makes up for the and generally bad thrift luck this month. I didn’t find any dolls, but a couple of clothing and furniture pieces as well as another Blind Bag G4 MLP to add to my ever-growing collection.
The last 2 dolls I have to show you are my 2 Christmas gifts. The one I opened first is Marena from Magic Mixies Pixlings! She was my favourite from the first set, and I have no clue how I got lucky enough to get her. These dolls have the softest hair EVER! They are just the cutest little fantasy friends. The designers deserve the biggest raise in history. Very overpriced here in Europe, but I can’t complain considering I got her for free. My mom is so thoughtful and clearly paid a lot of attention to the dolls I was constantly staring at in stores. Gifts like that are extra special because I never get to buy newly released dolls and just holding them in my hands feels surreal. I already took her with me to run some errands and stared at her the entire time my mom was driving (I don’t have a licence yet). I’m forever grateful.
Finally, we have MY FIRST G3 DOLL! I was not going to get into these, but my mom surprised me with the magazine that they have here and there was a giveaway in there. I entered and jokingly told my mom that if I got into G3 now, it would be her fault. I don’t think I won the giveaway, but when my mom asked me to mark which dolls I’d want in a toy catalogue, I circled some G3 girls, but put a question mark next to it. Of course, she noticed and ran with it. She told me that she bought one of the ghouls and specifically chose the one with the cutest, most unique pet. I thought it was Drac, but last minute she told me that I was wrong. Turns out it was Lagoona! When I tell you I’m obsessed with this doll, I mean it. She reminds me of the doll that got me into MH, Honey Swamp, who I got in February 2020. Almost 4 years later and Monster High is still magical to me. Both original and new aren’t perfect, but they are some of the most captivating dolls ever. It’s hard to explain, but whatever it is, G3 has it just as much as G1. Therefore, I think I’m now officially into G3. This is not the last paycheck you’ll be receiving, Mattel.
Anyway, this was a LONG post. I look at the word count and I’m horrified (I’m writing this on Word). That’s ok I guess; I had a good time writing it. I hope you had a good time reading, too! What did you get this month? Do you have any of these dolls? I’d love to know!
Bye ~

Those dolls are so cute!!! I loved learning about them ❤️ I need to get some cave club too, I love their proportions. And Lagoona does have something magical about her! I wasn’t gonna buy her either, but my sister gave her to me and now she’s my second fave. She’s adorable!!! Also super jealous of your Usagi, I wouldn’t have noticed that’s not her og dress if you hadn’t told me, amazing find! I loved taking a look at your dollies 🥰 looking forward to more posts from you ❤️
Thank you so much! <3
Honestly totally got the part about barley ever getting dolls brand new (especially right after release) also my whole collection was bought on sale since I’m also a sophomore in high school without a driver’s license (So I can’t get a job since I live out in the country) You little haul was super nice to read through. ^^
Aww, thank you so much! ♡ It’s nice to see I’m not the only broke teen in this community lol. I wish I could buy more dolls on sale, but my local stores kinda suck. That’s why I have to go with thrifting and often can’t appreciate the amazing dolls that are on store shelves now. Except for in December apparently.
Yeah I get that, my ma hates Target and our Walmart not great but yk^^ we push through ^^
