Hello everyone!
I’m sure there are some cat doll enjoyers here, so let me introduce you to a line of cat dolls that no one ever talks about.
They’re Meow Planet Variety Series by the brands Tata cat x Choco Teddy. This series includes 7 dolls: Cathy, Mia, Zoe, Ashley, Bella, Ruby and Eva (hidden). The release year is 2022.
I personally have 2 dolls from this brand: Mia and Ashley. Each of the dolls comes with clothes, gloves and a bag. The quality of dolls is really impressive. The gloves are made out of a soft plastic, some clothes even feature zippers (for example Ruby’s hoodie).
The dolls include 6 points of articulation: head, arms, legs, and hip. These are definitely not as impressively articulated as some of the recent Chinese art BJDs, neither are they BJDs to begin with. The joints on these dolls are mechanical.
Another impressive thing about them are their inset eyes. Once again, their heads don’t open like some other dolls’ eyes and the position of the eyes can’t be adjusted. Still, the inclusion of inset eyes is impressive.
These being blind box dolls also come with collector’s cards. The cards are almost comically tiny compared to Penny’s Box Antu or Come4free Bonnie cards though.
Here’s a size comparison with Penny’s Box Dreamlike Tea Party and Come4free Bonnie The Starry Night Chapter dolls.
The company that produced there never released another line of dolls from what I’ve gathered. They did, however, produce some figurines (one of which is a cat shaped diffuser – so cute!). It’s a shame because I can see how they could have improved on these. Nowadays these are pretty hard to find online, you’d be lucky to find a listing of them.
oh these are so adorable, thank you for sharing!
I love seeing obscure dolls – thank you!
