J-Dolls are a discounted doll line by Jun Planning / Groove. They share that same body’s that Pullip used back in the late 2000’s and 2010’s. They are designed and named after various famous streets around the world.
My particular doll is Takeshita Street. Which is a street in Harajuku. It is apparently well known for its super colorful and youthful fashion.
I have been aware of these dolls for quite a while. I remember always trying to find them at Tuesday Morning since I knew others were finding them there. But I never came across any…
Here is Takeshita!
Her colors really pop. I especially love her makeup and beautiful inset eyes.
The outfit is also phenomenal quality. Despite the outfit being red and black. There was actually very minimal staining on my doll. Just a bit of red on her upper thigh.
My doll came with both of her wrists broken (which is a relatively common flaw with the earlier J-Dolls). Luckily I was able to fix them with a bit of glue. But I know other’s have more efficient methods with fixing them.
Since I know that some doll fans compare ICY’s Fortune Days line and J-Dolls. Here is Takeshita next two my redressed Sagittarius (Sagi) doll.
J-Dolls are rather petite compared to most western 1/6 dolls. And ICY Fortune Days are around the same height as a tall Barbie . Their body sculpts are also quite different.
I know this wasn’t as in depth as my posts usually are. But I just wanted to share.
Thanks for reading!
so lucky, i can’t find these anywhere :,3
I got mine from Mercari.JP using a proxy. (I personally use Zenmarket)
I definitely recommend trying it out if you want these dolls for cheeper then they usually sell for on eBay.
I hope you can get one someday!
