Hello to everyone reading this! I’m new to the doll scene and would not consider myself an enthusiast by any means but I wanted to join a community where I could post updates on my recently growing collection (and have an excuse to take pics of them).
Recently I purchased a couple of BJD clothing sets from KikaGoods and will be highlighting the Idyllic Pastures coloration from the Flora Series.
Initial Impressions: I was incentivized to buy from KikaGoods because the prices for the dresses were pretty affordable compared to other sites selling Liroro clothing. I think I saw the pink version selling on other sites for double the prices of the green/red/blue/yellow variants? Anyways I really liked the Ballad of Floating Island and Idyllic Pasture colorations, but I was on the fence about Idyllic Pasture because the center lace on the bonnet had some serious sag in multiple preview photos. I decided to go for both anyways because I could just use fabric glue to make the lace stay how I wanted it to.
Impressions: It took about a week and a half for the clothes to ship. The clothes came packed in a box that was wrapped over in rubbery material. Everything was secure. Each outfit set came in a plastic packet. Here’s what the Idyllic Pasture set looks like on a flat spread (hairclip not included):
The set comes with a bonnet (with an elastic strap), the dress (velcro opening/closing), an apron and arm sleeves for extra fun layering, as well as an extra pair of socks that weren’t in the preview.
How freaking cute right??
One of the worries I had about the set was that in the reviews that the center apron bow stuck out like a sore thumb in the yellow variant, and there was no other reviews for the other colors so I didn’t really have any reference for what the ones I got would look like.
I’m happy to report that that wasn’t the case because everything is REALLY nice here…. the fabric for the dress and the arm sleeves are shimmery. The flowers on her bonnet are beautiful subdued shades. Somehow despite all the preview photos for Idyllic Pasture indicating otherwise there’s no weird sagging on the lace (they couldn’t have used another bonnet for the photoshoot??). Frankly I could not be more pleased.
The socks were lacking a lot of flair but they seemed like freebies anyways so I stuck to what I had on my Liroro originally.
I don’t have many negative things to say, but I didn’t really enjoy that the dress without the apron is really white at the edges? It’s not very noticeable, especially if you chose the blue variant of this dress, but I notice that the shimmery fabric makes the dress seem whiteish which washes it out a a bit. Something else I don’t love is that the elastic on the arm sleeves isn’t supportive so every time I was trying to adjust my doll’s arms they would slip forward. Not fun.
What WAS fun was giving my doll the photoshoot of her incredibly nonsentient life. Seeing her in that outfit endowed me with so much inspiration I managed to find my old Rement furnitures I haven’t seen in over a decade just to give her a cute strawberry setup to take photos with. I laughed I cried…. I might have drooled a little bit because the miniature foods are a tad realistic…. Aliexpress might steal these photos one day thats how good they were.
I think I talked a bit too much so have these MOMA worthy shots of her as a reward for scrolling this far 🙂
I love my little doll… I always enjoyed her default outfit greatly but I feel like this set has really enhanced her cutest features (her eyes and scrunchies at the ends of her braids). I want to ramble more about her but I don’t think there’s anything else left to say. I just really like this outfit.
If anyone knows any dolls similar to the Liroros I would appreciate a recommendation. I’ve scrolled long and far but I don’t think any of them have scratched the moe spot quite like them.
Okay, that’s it for now. Thank you for reading if you’ve stuck around!
