Possible Prototype Hairdooz Doll?

Hi all! I wanted to share this funky little doll head that I bought from Aliexpress recently. I was browsing doll parts one day and stumbled across this listing for a cute little purple head:

I had never seen this doll before, but after some Googling I figured out that it was the head of a Hairdooz Salondooz doll. Hairdooz are a line of mini hair play dolls released by the company Head Start in 2019. Salondooz (pictured below) are a slightly more poseable spin-off of this line.

The only thing was, I couldn’t find a single Hairdooz doll in any of the series with a non-human or fantasy skintone. The doll’s purple skin was initially what drew me to her, so I decided to order a head and see what happened.

Fast forward a week or two and the head arrives. It looks exactly like the picture:

In the meantime, I’d had a chance to do some sleuthing to try and figure out what doll this was supposed to be. Based on her face screening and hair, she appears to be Coco from the Salondooz Starz line. The only difference between this head and the final doll seems to be her skin color. The final doll has a light natural skintone:

I was also able to find this character art of Coco in which she has a less natural looking pale pink skintone that resembles the head I bought slightly more:

I have scoured the internet to try and find images or listings of another Hairdooz doll with this purple skintone but I have not been able to find a single one. The only explanation that I can think of is that this head is some kind of prototype, factory sample, or factory error. If anyone happens to know anything more about the origins of this head, please let me know!

Either way, I’m delighted to have this cutie in my collection!
