    Uma Vanhoose Hair!

My first post! This morning I saw my Uma and she wasn't in the best state. Her original curls were looking worse for wear, and her flat hair bump on the front of her head had always annoyed me. Struck with...

    • Oh she turned out really cute!! Good job ❤️

    • She looks so good! I wanna try this on the newly released Creeproduction Spectra.

      • I would be careful with her hair! Since Uma has Nylon, the heat doesn’t effect it as badly. But with the poly it might fry it off- even if the hair is wet 💔 happy styling!

    • this hair looks wonderful on her , good job!!! you might’ve just inspired me to get her lol

    • Awe thank you both so much! She comes with some amazing accessories too, her guitar case actually opens and holds her guitar too! I really reccomend her if you’re willing to mess with her hair a bit ♡

    • I believe in you! It’s really not as difficult as it might look or sound! If you ever do want to try out this method on a rainbow/shadow high doll, feel free to shoot me a message if you need any help 😊♡ happy styling!!

    • Like others have said, Uma had not previously caught my eye, but that might have changed with your gorgeous hair styling! <3 The curled layers give her such a cool vibe. I tend to only put dolls on my wishlist that already come in outfits I would want, but I think in the future I'd love to get Uma, attempt to do her hair similarly, and put her in a mix of Mara and Harley's outfits, alongside Mara's drumkit. May I ask how you did the curl? I only know of the pencil or foam roller method for American Girl type dolls!

      • Your comment made me so happy 🥹 thank you for such a thoughtful comment!
As for how I did it, I wet her hair, brushed it out and straighted it first. Once the hair was straight I cut downwards in areas I wanted more layers in. The back of the hair particularly was a point of issue since it was all the same length. For hair closer to the face I cut closer to the head (think a quarter inch from the scalp) to create that wispy look! As for curling the hair, I only curled at the ends of the hair. Since I had cut the hair in a downward motion like this I needed to keep the flat iron curling outward to make the ends even!
I know my explanation might not be that great (I’m fairly new to this) but if this didn’t help at all feel free to dm me on twitter of Instagram @bringbobs and I’d be more than happy to send a video of my process ♡
        Happy styling!!

        • Aww, I’m glad I could brighten your day!! <3 And not at all, this was a super helpful explanation (I didn't know you could use a regular flat iron for this type of doll hair!!) and I hope you continue to post more tutorials/document your restyles!!! Thanks for taking the time to type all that out for me ^^

    • Her hair turned out so great, its so cute
