Fashion pack prototype image. Many changes made by the time of final release. Dolls are prototypes of the Runway collection- their faces are all screened with the Pinkie screening (specifically the shape of the white area above the snout). All of these fashions remained fairly similar by their final release though Ginger’s changed colors (pink changed to purple)
Fashion packs final release. Note that the dolls are not included with the fashions and are simply modelling them.
Unknown prototype. Includes headband so may be a later one. Face is quite different than the retail dolls.
This appears to be a later prototype due to the clothing and face being closer (potentially identical) to the final release. Pinkie’s ears are swapped so the brown side is showing. She also includes her hair clips which are not included in the final release.
Early prototypes of the Runway Collection featuring an early packaging mockup for Pinkie. These dolls all have the same snout pattern (Pinkie’s final pattern). The dresses are notably different than the final releases. Their purses are all the same and are not found in the final doll line.
Sample doll packaging for Runway Collection Pinkie. Note that this doll is identical to final release but the final release does not include the hair clips or sticker. Brush is absent.

Prototypes with different dresses- note Pepper’s skirt is missing the print. Pepper’s face pattern is also not the same as the final release. Dolls include the unreleased hair clips. Image from a Facebook ad for the dolls.
New York Toy Fair February 2013 image of booth. Notice the unreleased car, scooter and wig(?) set. There is also a hat box shaped case and the Runway Collection dolls feature the hair clips that were removed for final release. The playsets both have Travel collection dolls displayed with them but it seems like that is just to illustrate how they work. Although the Ginger’s Night Out fashion pack is correct on the doll, the packaging mockup features the old design with the pink color scheme instead of the purple.
