Unboxing a Liroro Summer Island BJD!

In July I placed a preorder for a Liroro Summer Island BJD blind box. There were delays, but my order was finally shipped out a few months later & arrived safely. I’ve been meaning to post the unboxing, so here we go!

This is my second purchase from this particular seller on Aliexpress, and like my last order with them the box was securely and safely packed. No dents this time! My only complaint was the delay, but from what I understand this was the fault of the manufacturing company and not the seller. They were great and communicated everything in a timely manner.

Here’s the box. The pictured doll is named Forest Tea Party. She is very cute! Now, normally I order a blind box, well, blind, but this time was special. I fell in love with a particular doll in this series so I ordered her instead of a random doll. Who did I get? Hint: she’s sour, but also sweet!

And exactly who I ordered was in the box! Introducing Lemon Jelly 🍋 All the dolls in this series were super cute, but Lemon Jelly was by far my favourite because of her facial expression. She arrives nude, and has her little dress, shoes, and animal ear headband in separate bags. She came with extra hands which is a nice addition. Inside her box is also a collectors sticker card. This little Lemon Jelly looks like she broke her ankle in the packaging though.

But she was fine! And look how CUTE she is! She was much easier to dress than my last 1/12 BJD, and her shoes stay on rather well. There was a loose thread on her dress and bow but that is very easy to trim. I appreciate that the headband with the animal ears is removable. As I mentioned, her facial expression was what made me want to get her. She looks like she is ready to cause some trouble!

Here is Lemon Jelly with my other 1/12 BJDs. I ended up swapping her default hands to give her a more mischievous & fun look. Like the other tiny dolls, she is very top heavy so standing her on her own is tricky sometimes. I’ve found some stands online for this size doll but have yet to order them.

I am hooked on these little BJD blind boxes. They’re well made & well strung, cute, and affordable. Their small size is perfect for the limited display space I have. For anyone wanting to get into the hobby these are a great little starting point, and if you don’t want to play the blind box game most sellers have the specific dolls available for order for a fraction more.

Christmas is coming so I’ve put a hold on dolly purchases until the new year. I’m really happy with the dolls I obtained this year, and how my collection has grown. I’ll have to post some shelfies later.
