Hello Dollect users and visitors!
I recently received a Jossie doll second hand from a former doll collector on Mercari, and I felt like writing about her, since there is not really many English speaking articles on these dolls.
Jossie is a doll line by Petworks, and a subspecies of the Usaggie series of dolls.
Both doll lines share the same body type/sculpt, and have different heads. With the only main differences being that Jossie dolls have wider faces, and that most Jossie dolls do not have bunny ears.
Usaggie, Jossie, and the other sister doll lines (Kuma-bolo, Hitzie, and some others) more often than not do not come with any clothing. The main reason for that is because these dolls main gimmick is that you can make outfits for them. And they often come with clothing pattens.
I have been aware of these dolls for a few years. Mainly because of them being a combination of my favorite kinds of dolls to collect (anime styled and anthropomorphic). But I only got my first Usaggie doll back in August or so ago, but I instantly fell in love!
I made a post about her previously.
despite this particular Usaggie doll not being a high priority for me, I got her sealed for a very good price that I couldn’t say no too. And I do not regret picking her up at all.
But a doll that was on my wishlist for a good while was “FuwaFuwa Tare-Me Usagi-chan” But I never saw her pop up for sale whenever I did look for her.
This is an official product image by Petworks.
Her sweet face and long minty hair really spoke to me. She is also a white bunny, which I have a major soft spot for since my beloved childhood bunny was albino. (But all bunnies are good bunnies).
So as soon as I saw her on Mercari (JP) I purchased her right away! And since she was from a former doll collector, she actually came with an adorable handmade outfit.
Without any further ado, here is Tare-Me, who I renamed Terra.
The doll
Here she is. She is so cute!
Her previous owner gave her an adorable handmade outfit with Sanrio characters on it. The colors on this look great with her! The previous owner also gave her artificial flowers as a head decoration.
(The stand came with my Judy Hopps Revoltech figure)
Terra has very long and wavy minty hair, and she also has some blond highlights. But it’s quite subtle.
Her hair is also thickly rooted and nice quality.
Her face-up is pretty simple. Her mouth is very small which is definitely a turn-off for some people. But I don’t really mind it.
Comparisons
Here she is next to my Kanna Kamui Nendoroid.
Here she is next to my Usaggie. As I mentioned before, most Jossie dolls do not come with bunny ears. But the ones that do come with bunny ears, share the same ear sculpt as Usaggie.
Here you can see that they have different head sculpts. Both are very simple, and don’t have much detail. But Jossie dolls have wider faces
They are the exact same hight. I am unsure of it’s just my particular doll, but Terra’s legs are significantly closer together, thus makes it nearly impossible to make her stand without something propping/holding her up.
Next I will be mentioning some similar-ish sized dolls.
Here she is next to Tula Toned, who is a Redressed Novi Stars doll. (A Playmates Strawberry Shortcake outfit for those wondering)
Here is Terra next to Marena, who is a Pixlings doll.
I feel like these two would be girlfriends or something.
Terra and Tula are actually pretty close in height. Their proportions are quite different, so they can’t share can’t share clothing.
The trio!
Here is where I have her displayed for the time being. But knowing me, I’m probably going to change this out right away…
(Since I know people are going to ask. The puppy doll is an independently made doll sold by DOLLMART on Aliexpress)
So that is that. I am not used to writing stuff like this, and I haven’t taken my ADHD meds today. So I hope my rambling was at least somewhat coherent.
Thank you so much for reading!
She’s so precious!
Congrats on your new Usagi-chan! The dress her previous owner had her in is absolutely darling. 🙂
Nice find! I love the hand-made dress.
