Why is Tiara’s hair so pretty, soft and smooth but Tessa and Minnie’s is puffy, frizzy and difficult to brush through at the bottom? All 3 have been washed and dried the exact same way so i don’t really know why this happens?
Its not the first time either, half of the dolls i wash turn out with beautiful smooth hair and half end up frizzy.
It really bothers me and puts me off some dolls, the frizzy hair is difficult to work with and not fun to play with.
How do I stop the hair from turning out frizzy?
I’ve tried out so many things to try see what causes it and how to prevent it. I used to think it was because the dolls hair was curly but since, i’ve had some curly haired dolls turn out soft and smooth and some straight haired dolls turn out rough and frizzy.
How do i fix the frizzy hair without removing Minnie’s wavyness? For the straight haired dolls a boil wash works fine but i don’t think i can try that on curly haired dolls, id like to keep their curls but i don’t have any proper way to recurl the hair. ):
Hmm, I don’t know much about Rainbow High, but it could be that they’re made of different types of doll hair. For example, I recently worked with a G3 Clawdeen who had polypropylene hair; No matter what I did it was always kind of frizzy, while my Draculaura has saran hair, and it always lays nice and smooth with just a little bit of finger combing. So different hair types would be my guess.
hmm after a quick look at the database they all apparently have nylon hair, so hair type shouldn’t really be affecting it…
my hunch might be just that they were previously curled, meanwhile Tiara had mostly straight hair to begin.
feels like maybe attempting to straighten it with a straightener on the lowest setting might give some of the desired results?
however I am extremely inexperienced so please do take my comment with a grain of salt |ω・)(I’m only just starting my journey of doll hair styling)
