Chinese Barbie

(Back of the Box)

Hello, I’m Chinese Barbie. I’d like to take you on a tour of China, the third largest country in the world, just a little bigger than the USA. There are about 1.1 billion people in my country, a land of many different scenes: high mountains, dry deserts, and harbor cities. Our capital city of Beijing has existed for over eight hundred years and is home to the famous Emperor’s Palace and other beautiful buildings. Almost 11 million people live here! There are many rare and exotic animals found only in China like the Manchurian Tiger, golden monkey and giant panda. Only 1000 pandas are known to be living in their natural habitat. You mustn’t travel through China without stopping at the Great Wall. It stretches for 4,160 miles across Northern China and is the only man-made structure that can be seen from the moon without a telescope. Many great inventions came from Ancient China over one thousand years ago: paper, printing, and the compass. Lovely silk fabric, fireworks, umbrellas and kites were all created long ago in China. I’m wearing a traditional Chinese costume. A rich pink chrysanthemum print guazi (robe) over a slim skirt, both with decorative gold and black borders. I hope you will come to China. I will tell you more about my country’s fascinating history and exciting future. Goodbye!
