The national flowers are the red carnation and the pomegranate, but Spain is also famed for growing oranges and olives. The food here is fresh and delicious, but not at all spicy or picante! The seafood and paella are highly recommended! The Spanish love celebrations and have a long history of many outstanding fiestas! Carnival is popular throughout the country. Seville hosts Ferria de Abril, an entire week of singing and dancing. Las Fallas de San Jose in Valencia is an enormous party complete with huge, elaborate statues called ninots and fireworks.
