Introduced in 2015 as a collaboration between Mattel and DC launched with an animated you tube short over the course of 2016 the franchise had expanded with a line of graphic novels, toys, and apparel. The line was introduced as a result of the push back against traditional fashion dolls, the 2015 girl power movement and the superhero mania that was sparked around that time.
