PQ(ぴ~きゅ~)
PQ(ぴ~きゅ~) (Pi~kyu~) is a line of Japanese satirical art toys created by sculptor and filmmaker, Junya Okabe. The toys are meant to be quirky and weird reimaginings of the classic Kewpie doll. They were originally released in late 2006 by the company, Buildup, as UFO catcher prizes and became available for public sales the year after. In 2026, the line received a revival through blister pack capsule toy miniatures produced by the company, Blue Mountain Capsule Toy. A total of 16 different toys have been made.

Additionally, in 2021, a Kickstarter was launched to release STL files for personal 3D printings of the original figures. It unfortunately failed to make its goal.
The official website is no longer live, but the homepage can still be accessed through the Wayback Machine.

Dolls

The original PQ dolls were released by Buildup in 2006 as UFO catcher toys sized between 2-4” in height. Eight different dolls were created in total. They became available to be purchased directly the year after in 2007 through three different sets: Sets A and B, which consisted of four of the dolls each and sold for ¥2,520 JPY, and Set C which was a full set of eight and retailed for ¥5,040 JPY.

Capsule Toys
In 2026, the company, Blue Mountain Capsule Toy, released a series of capsule machine toys which depicted the original eight dolls in even smaller sizes held within tiny 2.2” blister packs. These were designed to be used as phone charms and keychains. The Blister Collection series was divided into two separate releases with the first four releasing in March 2026 and the second in April 2026.
