Pretty Series (Takara Tomy A.R.T.s)

Introduction

Pretty Series, also known in a few regions as the Prism Stone series, is a multimedia magical girl + idol franchise by Japanese toy company Takara Tomy‘s A.R.T.s division and game developer synSophia. The series began in 2010 with the arcade game Pretty Rhythm Mini Skirt, and starting with Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream in 2011, also became an anime franchise. The anime franchise is a Japanese-Korean co-production between Tatsunoko Production and DongWoo A&E. Other incarnations of the franchise include PriPara, Kiratto PriChan, and Waccha PriMagi!.

As a Doll Franchise

Very few dolls have been released for Pretty Series. In 2012, the Prism Star Doll series was launched for Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future, but only four dolls were released. There was also a Licca-chan themed after Laala Manaka, the protagonist of PriPara. There were also many dolls released exclusively in South Korea, such as a collaboration with ball-jointed doll company LUTSdoll.
