You and Idol PreCure makes their debut

The newest series in the Pretty Cure franchise, You and Idol PreCure, was officially revealed last week. With it, comes a whole line of new products from Bandai. The new products will all launch on Feburary 1st (in Japan only).

Pretty Cure Style dolls

The main doll line of the franchise, Pretty Cure Style, will be adding the lead three characters: Cure Idol, Cure Wink, and Cure Kyun Kyun. You can already find these three in our database. They each retail for ¥4,510.

The dolls are far from the only thing they have in store, let’s take a look at their other offerings!

The main item of the series is the Idol Heart Brooch. By inserting a Cure Ribbon and squeezing the sides, the disco ball inside will spin and allow you to transform! This item costs ¥5,280. Next, is the Idol Heart Income, a headset microphone allowing you to sing along with the Cures. This will retail for ¥5,500. The Pretty Toy Camera allows you to simulate taking photos with your favorite idol, and costs ¥8,910 (this one will release in March). Lastly, are the two mascots, Purirun and Meloron. Purirun has blinking eyes and will chat with you by placing different Cure Ribbons on it’s chest. They retail for ¥7,920. Meloron will also chat with you, plus has style-able hair and different outfits. Meloron costs ¥4,400

The dolls aren’t the only character items you can find. For fans of mini figures, there is also the Pre-Coord line. Each figure retails for ¥1,848. These come with a bonus outfit, allowing you to swap between Cure and civilian form. There is also the Cure Friends line of plushies, costing ¥2,750 each.

A recent staple of the franchise is the Pretty Holic series of play-cosmetics. This year’s line includes a set of lipstick and perfumes themed after each character.

Outside of the primary toy line, the main theme this year is Oshikatsu. In Japanese fandom culture, this term refers to the act of supporting your favorite idol (though people do this with characters as well), often through themed merch and trinkets. To further encourage Oshikatsu, a variety of items such as badge makers, lightsticks, photocards and holders, and smaller keychain plushies will be released.

You can see all of these products as well as many more on Bandai’s PreCure homepage.
