Barbie 1982 Spanish Face Mold

The Spanish Face Mold debuted in 1983, with its name taken from its first doll, Spanish Barbie, from the Dolls of the World line. Despite the naming of this face mold, this face is not exclusively used for Hispanic characters. It was used for Christie, Dee Dee from Barbie and the Rockers, and the African American depictions of Barbie in the 1980s. Barbie’s first Hispanic friend, Teresa Rivera, was first depicted with this sculpt in the 1980s as there was no specific face created for Teresa yet. Teresa would get her own face in 1990 with the Teresa Sculpt that is still used today for playline dolls and some collector dolls, though not necessarily the character Teresa anymore.
