Melody Ellison, 1964

Melody is a young girl from Detriot during the 1960s.. She is the fifteenth Historical Character, introduced by American Girl in 2016. She was the second character to be introduced under the Beforever rebrand.

She represents the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.

Melody comes from a very musically inclined family, of which she is the youngest child. She loves to sing, but she often gets nervous when she has to perform. Melody is a high-spirited girl with a strong sense of justice, and thinks a lot about the world around her and the inequalities that just don’t make sense. She is a natural leader, but often doesn’t feel like it. Melody loves singing and gardening, which she finds peaceful and quieting.

Melody is the third African American Historical Character, after Addy and Cécile.
